Being Nice vs Being Human!!
1) Excuse me…Just go for it
I remember talking to a friend who was really into a girl. He didn’t
do a thing to get to know her, but instead cribbed to me about how she was
dating another guy, who didn’t seem worthy to him and that he was a nice guy.
He wondered why she didn’t like him.
So I told him, “But you didn’t dare to even talk to her!”
Being nice is never good enough. Nobody owes you a darn thing!
You can’t simply be a nice person and then sit around on your butt.
You don’t gain what you want from “karma points” or whatever.
If you want something, you go for it. No excuses. You do what it
takes. You can’t expect life to be handed over to you just because you’re nice.
2) Being nice is not part of healing
These words resonated with me so much. I can be a very angry person
and I was talking to a friend about my anger issues. I repeatedly told him
about how I was still a nice guy and didn’t get in trouble with the law.
He then said, “Being nice is not part of healing.”
It made me realize how we all seem to mistake that being a nice
person is all that takes to heal our problems and iron out our issues.
Yes, being nice will not cause additional problems, but it’s not
enough if you really want to heal. You have to look deep within, start being
brutally honest with yourself and pinpoint the start of healing specifically.
3) People simply don’t care
I was once taught by some unknown person in Mumbai local, probably a
teacher, “Teachers don’t get paid the most. Entertainers do.”
That said, being popular today seems to be arguably more important
than being nice.
So again, you can’t get what you want in life if you’re only nice.
You have to play the game right.
Ask yourself,
·
What can you do so you can present yourself to
be nice to the masses instead of just one person?
·
How can you make people care?
·
How can you get their attention?
4) Sometimes, you can’t be a nice person at
all
Why be nice to somebody who is completely toxic to you? Why say yes
all the time? You do know that you can start say no right?
At some point in life, you need to start caring for yourself, and in
turn be nice to yourself first and foremost. You need to start being selfish so
you can take care of yourself.
Dump the toxic people. Say no when you have to. Reject others. Stand
up for yourself! You’ve to earn others’ respect.
And you can’t do that if you’re a pushover.
5) You don’t stand out if you’re only
nice
Think about it: Almost everybody is nice today.
What do you think of somebody when you’re told, “Oh yeah. He’s a
nice person.”
And that’s it.
I mean, it’s good to be nice, but that doesn’t mean you’d stand out.
Why not be: Charismatic, talented, funny, eloquent, spontaneous, witty
or intelligent?
And you know what? You got it
in you. Let it out! Don’t be shy. Don’t play safe by being nice only!
6) Stop living out for the world
Nobody cares what you do and
what you don’t. People get influenced when you achieve something good/great in
your life. They forget all your failure and envy about your success. But same
thing doesn’t happen when you face failure in your life. People change with
situations. So stop living out for the world. The second and a very important
aspect that destroys your life is the mentality “Log kya kahenge”. Does public
opinion really matters this much? Is it important that you please the public
while you shit in your pants? My answer is “NO”. Keep yourself happy, your
family happy being genuine to yourself.
7) Keep away from blind beliefs
India being a nation of great diversity
teaches us a lot of things. But unfortunately, when we are going through bad
phases of our lives, we tend to start have some blind beliefs. One of them is
Horoscopes. It is great study in itself but I personally do not believe in it
for:
·
How
do you validate that the match is correct?
·
If
at all there is some match, how does someone validate that your birth details
are correct?
·
Try
to think over this practically. Every clock/watch/cell phones have some
difference in their timings. How do you know which one is correct?
These things are bullshit!! Lesser you
believe in this, happier you are.
8) “Insaan bada banta hai apne karm se...
Kundli se nahi!”
I can explain this with a better
exampleà
Let’s say, there are 5 kid born in a
city on the same date, same time. One of them was Sachin Tendulkar. Now as per
the horoscope logic, all the 5 kids will have same horoscope, with same
forecast and same/similar future. But do we have 5 Sachin Tendulkar? “NO”
Whatever you become, it is because of
your efforts, hard work, attitude towards life and lot many things. It is your
own karmas that take you miles! Your own deeds!! Don’t blame others
